When the layer of skin stretches or looses quickly, some of its collagen fiber gets a break which leads to the formation of these marks. These lines can be of a purple, bright pink or light gray colour. Over time, they usually get lighter in colour, and in some cases, they seem to disappear.
Stretch marks can appear in people of all ages and can commonly be seen on buttocks, waist, thigh, upper arm or stomach.
