Periods bring along awful cramps and a puffy stomach. But well, we deal with this every week. While we try to feel better by munching on some good stuff, it is always important to ensure that we are eating right so that we don't add to the pain. Here are some foods and drinks that you shouldn't be having on your periods:
Dairy Products
Dairy products like milk, butter, ice cream among others contain arachidonic acids that can trigger menstrual cramps and are not really a good option to pick while you are on your periods.
Alcohol
While you are on your period, you already feel very bloated. Having alcohol adds to your bloating. It makes you retain water and this makes you feel bloated. If you can't live without your booze, cut down the quantity to half.
Greasy Snacks
Avoid having snacks like chips, biscuits and other unhealthy snacks while you are on your period. These greasy foods come with trans fats that raise the estrogen level of your body and lead to mood swings. Switch to healthier snacking options!
Sugary Foods
Most women turn to cakes, donut, candies when they are on their periods. We surely love binging on sugary stuff to get relief from our period pain but we never realize that it only adds to it someway or the other. Sugary foods add to our blood sugar levels and this is one of the biggest reasons behind our mood swings. Also, sugar makes us feel tired during our periods.

Coffee
If you are a coffee addict, you will have to bid it a goodbye during your periods. Coffee leads to an increase in the blood pressure level of the body and the heart rate too. This even worsens your condition during your period. You may get tension attacks while you consume caffeine on your period.
