Lakme Fashion Week: Varun Bahl Showcases Sustainable 'Inner Bloom Festive Edit' Ft. R|Elan

Couturier Varun Bahl showcased his sustainable sartorial edit at Lakme Fashion Week 2023. The festive edit from the design house  was aptly called the 'Inner Bloom Festive Collection’.

Couture designer, Varun Bahl took Lakme Fashion Week 2023 by storm with his R|Elan X Varun Bahl label’s collection tailor made for the festive season. What’s more, the collection doesn’t just celebrate the festivals but also has sustainable fabrics from the house of R|Elan courtesy Reliance.

Varun Bahl presented a captivating collection in collaboration with R|Elan which was called ‘Inner Bloom-Festive Edit’ at Lakme Fashion Week 2023 in collaboration with Fashion Design Council Of India (FDCI).

The festive edit served by the design genius Varun Bahl was essentially an extension of his previous line. The collection merged his twenty year long experience in the couture sector with the beauty of nature.

Varun’s deep connection with flora and fauna and nature saw expression in the collection which also voiced hope and rejuvenation through the use of flowers as a metaphor. Each ensemble in the collection was created with three dimensional embroidery, opulent materials courtesy versatile fabrics from the brand Reliance’s sustainable brand, R|Elan.

The collection is the perfect pick for the festive and wedding season for the fashion girls who are looking at including a fresh and alternative element in their wardrobe as they doll up for the festivities and ‘shaadi’ season. During a post event press conference Varun opened up by sharing, "'Inner Bloom-Festive Edit' is all about celebrating and bringing people together during these joyous occasions, creating a joyful atmosphere.”

He further commented on his collaboration with R|Elan and said, “When a designer works with new fabrics, it often presents challenges, but I encountered none here. The fall and weight of certain fabrics were ideal for the intricate embroidery work, and the fabric’s fit and drape were exquisite. I would be delighted to use it again.”
