Eggs are highly nutritious, and packed with essential vitamins and minerals, they benefit our health in multiple ways. However, if not consumed in moderation, adding eggs to our daily diet can backfire and lead to certain side effects and health issues
Dietician Ritu Puri, ESIC Hospital, Central Government Hospital said, "Eating eggs in excess can lead to weight gain, diabetes among other health problems."
Eggs are a rich source of cholesterol. One egg contains about 180 mg of cholesterol. Eating an egg or two a day is recommended. Consuming more than two eggs in a day can increase the amount of cholesterol in the body. With an increase in cholesterol, you are at a higher risk of suffering from a heart attack, heart stroke, and even a heart blockage. Those who eat more eggs are at a higher risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Our expert suggested that consuming eggs in excess can lead to indigestion. Eggs contain a high amount of protein present in them which takes a lot of time to digest. If you eat too many eggs, you will end up disturbing your digestive health. "Avoid consuming all eggs with one meal, rather divide them in equal quantities for your different meals so that it is easier for your body to digest the eggs," said the dietician.
