Places To Visit Near Manali To See Snow: If you missed snow in Manali earlier this season, there is good news for you. Recently, fresh snowfall has been recorded in the higher regions of Himachal Pradesh, especially around Rohtang side and nearby valleys. Shimla’s nearby hills have also seen light snow and cold winds, bringing winter vibes back in March 2026. According to the latest weather report, from the last few days Manali is experiencing snow and light snow showers with a current temperature of around -6°C (particularly around the Atal Tunnel and higher reaches like Solang Valley). This sudden weather change has once again made Himachal Pradesh a winter favourite for snow lovers travelling in March 2026.

Top 4 Snow Destinations Near Manali You Must In March 2026

1. Solang Valley

Solang Valley is the first place you should head to if you are in Manali right now. Just around 13 km from the main town, this place often receives fresh snow even when Manali city remains dry. After recent snowfall spells, Solang has been covered with patches of white snow again. As per MakeMyTrip, “Solang Valley is a popular hub for skiing, zorbing and paragliding. Go on multiple hiking trails or just gaze at the snow-covered peaks around.” You can enjoy snow play, ropeway rides, and adventure sports here. It is the most reliable snow point for families and first-time visitors.

2. Atal Tunnel And Sissu

One of the best snow experiences near Manali is beyond the Atal Tunnel towards Sissu in Lahaul Valley. According to Tripadvisor, the Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh is a premier tourist destination, celebrated as a must-visit engineering marvel connecting Manali to the scenic Sissu Valley. This region has received fresh snowfall recently, making it look like a complete winter landscape.

Snow-covered mountains, chilly winds, and beautiful valleys make Sissu a must-visit. Even in March, this area often stays colder than Manali, giving proper snow views and photography spots. However, always check road conditions before travelling as snowfall can temporarily block routes.
