Rinky Chakma, former Miss India Tripura 2017 has passed away due to cancer at the age of 28 years. Her official Instagram page shared the news of her untimely demise. She was battling with cancer for two years and was hospitalised on February 22 and was on ventilator support. However, her health deteriorated following which she passed away. Rinky Chakma Was A Cancer Patient
Rinky Chakma's untimely demise is a result of cancer which she was fighting for two years. As reported by Femina, the former Miss Tripura was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022. She went into surgery but cancer took over her lungs and head, resulting in a brain tumour as well. She was taken to the Max Hospital Saket’s ICU on February 22, 2024. Her condition was critical and therefore she was put on ventilator support. However, her lungs were almost non-functioning due to which her health condition worsened even more.

Last month, Rinky took to her Instagram and shared her cancer (know all about cancer)news with her fans. She penned down an emotional note for her followers and fans.

She wrote,
“Hi everyone, I hope everyone is doing fit and fine. First of all, I wanted to apologise for MIA for too long. I have been struggling alone for quite a while now. I did not want to tell anyone about my health for 2 years because I thought I'd battle and heal on my own. But I guess it's time I tell everyone about my health.”
“I was diagnosed with Malignant phyllodes tumour (breast cancer in 2022). After I had my first surgery, it metastasized into my lungs and now into my head (brain tumour). My brain surgery is still pending as it's already widespread all the right side of my body till my lungs and it will only be possible if I heal with chemotherapy first with just 30% hope, she added.
She further wrote, “Currently, I’m getting chemo sessions. Hopefully, after this, we will get my brain surgery done too. I just wanted to let everyone know that me and my family are going through a rough time and the last 2 years have also not been easy with regular hospital stays and visits. I am accepting donations as of now because we have exhausted all our savings on my treatment over the last two years. I thought letting everyone know what I am going through will also make me feel better.”

Rinky Chakma rose to fame after she won the Miss Tripura title (femina india runner up 2023) in 2017. She won two titles, Miss Congeniality and Beauty with Purpose.
