Chef Kunal Kapur Won Divorce After Years Of Cruelty By His Wife: Have A Look At Their Relationship Timeline

Recently, famous chef Kunal Kapur was granted divorce by the Delhi High Court on the grounds of cruelty meted out to him by his estranged wife. Reportedly, the court stated that the woman's conduct towards him was devoid of dignity and empathy. 

“When such is the nature of one spouse towards the other, it brings disgrace to the very essence of marriage and there exists no possible reason as to why he should be compelled to live while enduring the agony of living together,” the court said.

The Beginning of an Unhappy Married Life 

The couple started their married life on an extremely bad note. In the initial days of marriage, Kunal’s wife used to taunt him for having a small car and mocked him saying he is a man of no means. Despite the negativity, Kunal always tried to make their marriage work, “He tried to always keep her happy, took her to foreign locales but she would always create scenes,” wrote Deepika in her post. 

Fame, Jealousy and Abuse

Things became extremely worse when he got selected for Master Chef & she couldn't gulp his fame. “She called police on him many times including at a shoot of the show at Yashraj Studios. She constantly threatened him of implicating him in false cases & also slapped him one day before the shoot. In an incident in 2013, Kunal's wife hit him & his father recorded the same. She snatched his phone & even tried to hit the old man with a stick. Police were called & Kunal says that on this day he lost all his respect in the society,” revealed Bhardwaj.

False Allegations and Revelations

His wife made allegations of dowry, however, during her cross-examination she couldn't even tell the salary her father earned or provide any receipts for humongous wedding expenses as she claimed. She also lied about the locker not being in her possession. 

Recently, the High Court stated that the family court failed to see continuous cruel behaviour by the wife & ignored that the physical assault incident would cause any spouse to be in fear and considering overall facts. On Tuesday, Delhi HC granted divorce to Kunal Kapur.
