It's been just a few weeks since the cooking reality show MasterChef India first premiered and it has managed to hook us all. The show is getting a lot of love from audiences across the country. Judges Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar, Garima Arora have been putting the contestants through different challenges every week and these have been keeping usfixed to our television screens.
Recently, all of us had a heartbreaking moment when one of the most talked about contestants, Urmila Jamnadas Asher, lovingly called Urmila Ba got eliminated from the show.
Urmila Ba was one of the contestants who had to go through the pressure test along with five others. Ba had to recreate a dish created by Vikas Khanna, named 'Durian Ka Taj'. Ba was unable to follow the recipe and some elements were missing too. Though the flavours impressed the judges, they weren't happy with the presentation, further leading to Ba's elimination from the show.
Urmila Ba won hearts with her stint on the cooking reality show. However, that's not her only story. The 78-year-old Urmila Ba already was a known name when she made it to MasterChef India. She runs a YouTube channel, Gujju Ben Na Nasta. After losing her husband and two kids at a young age, Urmila Ba decided to give her life a second chance and did what she loved the most, cooking.
Ba's YouTube channel, Gujju Ben Na Nasta, has 176 subscribers. From undhiya to palak puris, she has been sharing easy, step-by-step recipes on her YT channel. Reportedly, Urmila Ba managed to earn lakhs of money with her YouTube channel.

Coming this far and being a part of a reality cooking TV show was a big thing for Ba. Even when she got eliminated from the show, she appreciated the chance she got. In an interview with a national daily, post her elimination, Urmila Jamnadas said, "In the same way that I appreciate the chances that 'MasterChef India' gave me to try new foods, I am glad to see that others will continue to have them here. Despite my departure, I am carrying with me an abundance of wonderful memories and, of course, a wealth of new knowledge thanks to this fantastic show."
As soon as Urmila Ba's eviction was announced on the show, MasterChef fans took to their Twitter handles and flooded messages for her. One of the users wrote, "#UrmilaBaa you will be missed in the master chef kitchen. I truly enjoyed watching you in the kitchen. At 78 you have shown tremendous hunger, the right sprit and the right attitude one should have in life and that age is just a number 🙏."

Another one wrote, "Baa is a cutie. She’s an inspiration for every person. And the way she challenged herself everyday and try something new and out of her comfort zone is commendable 🥹🫶 One of my favourite contestant of this season 🤌 #masterchefindia #UrmilaBaa."
"Watched #MasterChefIndia & I am so overwhelmed. On one side, there is this young 20yr old boy, struggling to support his family, while on the other side cutie Baa, who came here at the age of 80, after losing her family. Either one’s journey had to end & it was so heartbreaking💔," read another Tweet.
