Ramadan is a time for spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and fasting, but it can also be a challenge for your skin. With long hours of fasting, changes in your diet, and the heat, it’s easy for your skin to feel dehydrated and lacklustre. Neha Gupta, MD of Alite Skincare and MeGlow, Punjab, shared a few simple tips to keep your skin glowing.
Here are simple skincare tips you can consider to keep your skin radiant during Ramadan:
Fasting doesn’t mean you can’t give your skin the hydration it craves. According to Neha, after suhoor, focus on drinking water, coconut water, or hydrating herbal teas. Your skin is a reflection of your hydration levels, and the more you drink during non-fasting hours, the more your skin will stay plump and glowing. Don’t skip out on water, your skin will thank you later.
Neha highlights that when you’re fasting, your skin might feel a little extra stressed. It’s important to use a gentle, hydrating cleanser to remove impurities without stripping your skin of its natural oils. Avoid harsh cleansers that can leave your skin feeling tight and dry. A mild foaming or cream-based cleanser will do the job and keep your skin soft and refreshed.
Dehydration is one of the biggest threats to glowing skin during Ramadan. Neha advises making moisturising a top priority especially before you go to bed. Look for a moisturiser that locks in hydration and supports your skin’s barrier. If you want to take it to the next level, use a hydrating serum packed with antioxidants to give your skin an extra dose of love.

According to Neha, facial masks aren’t just for pampering, they're an essential part of your Ramadan skincare routine. Whether it’s a hydrating sheet mask, a clay mask to detoxify, or a soothing gel mask, it provides an instant glow-up when you need it most. Apply a mask a few times a week to keep your skin fresh, radiant, and nourished.
Exfoliation is key to maintaining smooth and glowing skin, but balance is everything. Neha recommends gentle exfoliation a couple of times a week will slough off dead skin cells and reveal fresh, glowing skin. Just be careful not to over-exfoliate, as this can leave your skin irritated and dry. Opt for a mild scrub or a chemical exfoliant that’s suitable for your skin type.
