Panchayat Season 4 Ending Explained:Everyone's favourite show, 'Panchayat' has come with season 4. The series became one of the most beloved shows in India after its release on Amazon Prime in 2020, as it explained how a small choice can lead to significant changes. The Viral Fever created the show and has since created a massive fanbase, with hardcore 'Panchayat fans' binge-watching the entire season in one sitting and spending the rest of their time re-watching the existing seasons on loop as they wait for the series to return with another instalment.

As the fourth season dropped, and if you are someone who watched the show but didn't understand the ending, we are here to decode the last season for you.

‘Panchayat’ Season 4 Ending Explained

Everyone’s favourite slice-of-life drama, ‘Panchayat,’ returned with its much-awaited fourth season, continuing its legacy of mixing humour with social and political realities. Since its debut on Amazon Prime Video in 2020, the show has grown into one of India’s most loved web series.

What started as a light-hearted story of a city-bred engineer adjusting to rural life has now evolved into a gripping narrative about power, politics, and personal choices. And in typical ‘Panchayat’ fashion, season 4 didn’t just entertain, it left fans with questions, emotions, and plenty of speculation about what’s coming next.

Season 4 kicks off in the aftermath of Pradhan Ji’s shooting, with the village still tense and the stakes higher than ever. Abhishek, now embroiled in a legal tussle thanks to Bhushan, finds himself questioning his future. As he struggles with stress and self-doubt, Pradhan Ji recuperates from his injury, while Manju Devi and the rest of the camp weigh their options for the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, Bhushan and Kranti Devi are plotting their next move, bolstered by the backing of ex-MLA Chandrakishore. The politics of revenge, optics, and mudslinging take centre stage as both camps try to one-up each other, not just with words, but with staged acts of public service and cleverly executed manipulation.

Plot Twist

One of the most satirical sequences this season revolves around the cleanliness campaign, where both sides try to outdo each other for the sake of public perception. What begins as a harmless photo-op spirals into chaos, eventually leading Manju Devi to confront Bhushan in front of a gathered crowd. While she exposes the alliance between Bhushan and the former MLA, Bhushan retaliates by inflicting self-injury to gain sympathy votes—a turning point that sways public perception.

Meanwhile, Abhishek and the team attempt to turn Bhushan’s people against him. They nearly succeed with Vinod, but his return to Bhushan’s side casts doubt on loyalties and raises questions about who’s truly trustworthy. This political chess game escalates into an income tax raid and a campaign full of dirty tricks.

With both parties neck-deep in campaign theatrics, the villagers are caught between choosing old loyalty and new promises. The arrival of a new MP, played by Swanand Kirkire, shakes things up further. He tries to bring Prahlad into state-level politics, using his son’s martyrdom as political capital, something Prahlad sternly opposes.

Tensions reach a peak when Phulera is plunged into a blackout. The electricity board refuses to act due to political pressure, leading to yet another showdown between Pradhan Ji and Bhushan. What follows is a battle of generators, optics, and emotional appeals. While Bhushan accuses Pradhan Ji of drama, the Pradhan appeals directly to the villagers to vote from their conscience, not under pressure.

‘Panchayat’ Season 4 Ending Explained

Election day comes and goes, but the results don’t bring joy for everyone. As Abhishek checks his CAT results with Rinki by his side, the Pradhan camp nervously awaits the outcome of the vote. When the final results are revealed, it’s Bhushan’s side that bursts into celebration. The narrow margin of defeat, just 73 votes stings deeply. Pradhan Ji, who had already prepared 25 kg of laddoos to celebrate, throws them away in frustration, calling the villagers ‘traitors.’ Even Manju Devi confronts him, blaming him for the loss.

Despite the defeat, some of his supporters try to look at the bigger picture. But the mood is somber. Abhishek, who scored a decent 97 percentile, is left conflicted. His future seems uncertain, as does his place in the politics of Phulera.

In the final moments of the season, Bhushan gets his name painted on the office wall as the new Pradhan. Standing beside him is Abhishek, who hasn’t left, at least not yet. Bhushan smugly asks whether his name should also be erased. Abhishek replies that he will be around for a few more months.

The celebrations begin on Bhushan’s side as firecrackers go off. But for the rest of ‘Phulera,’ and fans of the show, it’s clear that nothing will ever be the same again.
