Mrs. Trailer: Sanya Malhotra Is Flawless, Co-Actors Lend Good Support
The trailer for Mrs. starts with the families of Richa (Malhotra) and Diwakar declaring that they have found a match in one another and quickly traverses to show them getting married. As a new bride, Richa's eyes are filled with hope and aspirations as she steps into her husband's house with her father-in-law terming her "ghar ki beti," and we understand the irony of this dialogue as the trailer progresses.
As she starts handling the never-ending household chores, with no maid to help, Richa's initial bubble of excitement bursts in no time. She gets zero acknowledgment or recognition, even from Diwakar (Nishant Dahiya), and the endless work at home strains her relationship with him, too. To make matters worse for her, Diwakar's father (Kanwaljit Singh) has a strict rule that the women of the house cannot work outside.

To make his case, he cites the example of his wife who has a PhD, and yet the family and household are "always her first priority." When this dialogue happens, we see scenes of Richa's mother-in-law doing household work without a smile on her face, establishing her helpless unhappiness.
Richa slowly sees her dreams of being a dancer getting crushed and feels isolated and dejected. The trailer ends at this point. Those who have watched The Great Indian Kitchen know how it concludes, so Mrs. already has a ready climax. It needs to be seen though how director Aarti Kadav takes Mrs. to the finality.
