Tatkal Passport Rules 2019: Get Tatkal Passport In 1 Day And Regular One In Just 11 days

There were times when getting a passport was a tough task. Getting an appointment, waiting in long lines and a tiring process. Now it has all been made easier by the government of India. 

Getting a passport is now really easy. The Central Government states that a Tatkal passport will now be issued in just 1 day. 

To prevent delay in obtaining passports, the Central Government has launched an application in various districts for police verification of passport applicants.

Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan announced that the tatkal applicants will get their passports in just 1 day, those with regular passport application will get their passports in 11 days.

The Ministry of State for External Affairs has released warnings about all those fake websites who charge heavy passport fees. These are not the official passport application websites and applicants must keep a check on these. 

Here are some tips that you need to keep in mind if you are applying for a passport for the first time:

1. Applying online is easier and gets done faster. 
2. Make a list of all the documents that you will need for the application process when you are heading to the office.
3. When you get your appointment, make sure you get two photocopies of your original documents. 
4. For the tatkal passport, the applicant must submit a verification certificate and standard affidavit along with the tatkal fees.
