Yashoda: Samantha Ruth Prabhu Starrer Rules Overseas BO, Earns Over 20 Crores At Box Office

Yashoda, The Telugu film starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is soaring high at the theatres in India as well as in the United States. The film has earned approximately $445k in its first weekend in the US.

Yashoda is an action thriller film written and directed by the Tamil filmmaker duo Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan. Prabhu plays the role of Yashoda who works at the food delivery app Zomato and becomes a surrogate mother as she also has to fund her sister’s medical surgery. As she finds out something is wrong at the centre, where the surrogate mothers are kept, the film unfolds high-octane action sequences. The film hit the theatres on November 11, 2022 in five languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

As per Box Office reports, the film opened at ₹3.50 crores on Friday and collected over ₹10.50 crores over the weekend in the country and over ₹20 crores gross worldwide on day three at the theatres. “#Yashoda's Indomitable Will gets Unstoppable Love Abroad. As per another trade analyst, the film has made it to the top among Indian films at the United Kingdom box office for the weekend after earning over ₹35 lakhs. “@Samanthaprabhu2 's #Yashoda was the No.1 Indian Movie at the #UK Box office for the Nov 11th to 13th weekend.. Grossed £33,348 [₹ 32 Lakhs]” wrote trade analyst Ramesh Bala.

Since the release of the film, the actor has been receiving praise from all over for her action sequences and performance. Soon after the release, the actor shared a behind-the-scenes video from the film on social media, where she is performing action sequences. Recently, the actor announced that she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Myositis, and that she has been struggling with the same over the past few months. In a recent interview with a Telugu television channel, Prabhu spoke about her daily struggles and the treatment process and how she showed up to work on those days. “Somedays getting up from bed is difficult. Somedays I want to fight. Slowly the days I want to fight are getting more and more than the days I want to give up,” she said.
