For ₹901 crores, Diageo secured ownership of the Women's Premier League team based in Bengaluru.
The WPL, one of the most-anticipated tournaments since 2018, has brought together some of the best women cricketers from around the world to showcase their talent and compete for the coveted trophy. Among 448, 87 players were bought at a whopping amount of ₹59.5 Crores. The women’s IPL began on March 4, 2023, and is being aired on the Sports18 television channel and JioCinema, both owned by Viacom18. The finale for this season is scheduled for March 26, 2023.
