Woman Tricks Husband Into Selling Kidney And Elopes With Money

As per several media reports, the couple resided in West Bengal. The wife had been allegedly convincing the husband to sell his kidney to improve the financial situation of their family. After a prolonged time of persuasion, once the husband agreed to make this great self-sacrifice, the woman allegedly fled with the money after the surgery.

As mentioned in the complaint, the woman tricked her husband into selling his kidney by persuading him that they needed the money to improve the family’s financial situation and their daughter’s education. After a year of convincing, the man sold his kidney for a sum of Rs 10 lakhs to enrol their 12-year-old daughter in a better school. According to the complaint, once the man brought home the money after a month of the surgery, the woman allegedly eloped with the money along with another man.

In the victim’s statement given to PTI, the man mentioned how she eloped out of nowhere after instructing him to rest. He said, “Then one day she left the house and did not return. I later found the entire amount of Rs 10 lakh in cash along with some more was missing from the almirah."

Thankfully, the friends and family of the victim in Kolkata came to his rescue and found out the woman had been living with a man. It has been alleged that she met him on Facebook a year ago and has been having an affair since, as stated in the complaint.Shortly after, the husband and his mother visited the woman’s house, but she refused to speak with them. The alleged lover informed them that she would file for divorce due to physical and mental abuse from her in-laws during their 16-year marriage. The man denied that the woman took any money from her in-laws' home, asserting that she only took her own savings.

Latest Update From The Investigation

As per media reports, currently the situation is being investigated by West Bengal police on the basis of the complaint and video footage of the interaction between the alleged lover and the husband's family. Police has informed that the next step is to interrogate the woman and then take the investigation ahead.
