BHU Muslim Scholar Researches PM Modi's Leadership; Know How And Why She Chose Her Thesis

The Muslim student Najma Parveen completed her PhD from the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and the topic for her research was our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political leadership. The researcher mentioned that while many opposed for choosing it as the matter of her research, nothing could bug her from her decision.

The title of her research paper is ‘Narendra Modi’s Political Leadership: An Analytical Study’ which took her approximately eight to nine years.

Who Is Najma Parveen?

Najma is a Lallapura resident, from the Department of Political Science of Banaras Hindu University (BHU). She belongs to an ordinary weaver family and had lost her parents several years ago. Professor Rajiv Srivastava, the founder of Vishal Bharat Sansthan took care of the finances for the hardworking girl’s education.

Megastar Of Politics

Najma referred to Narendra Modi as the Megastar of Politics in her thesis and is one of the first few Muslim women to complete research on Modi. She mentioned in an interview, according to the reports, that she found Modi’s dynamic approach to leadership and politics very intriguing and inspiring.

Started in 2014

She began her research under the supervision of Professor Sanjay Srivastava of BHU and an external examiner from Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi.

“I selected this topic as PM Narendra Modi created a model of development as the chief minister of Gujarat. His popularity grew and he became the prime minister of the country. The 2014 general elections transformed the entire political landscape of the country. The Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory considerably reduced the influence of regional parties in national politics. As prime minister, Modi started working in a dynamic manner and took several decisions for the development of the country and the welfare of the poor. That is why I chose this topic,” she said to an interviewer.

How And Why She Chose This Topic For Her Thesis?

Apparently, the researcher herself wants to become a politician and has started her journey by becoming the president of the Bharatiya Awam Party.

Her thesis features five chapters; for which she took references from 20 Hindi books and 79 English books, including biographies of PM Modi, 37 newspapers and magazines.She also met PM Modi’s brother Pankaj and RSS leader Indresh Kumar as a part of her extensive and inclusive research.

She added how the movement against Triple Talaq is a part of her research and as a Muslim woman, she is in support of the decision and was amongst the first Muslim women to congratulate Modi on the formulation of the law.
