In an exclusive interview with Her Zindagi, Soha Ali Khan shares personal tips to new mothers and reacts on her close friend Neha Dhupia getting Body shamed.

The Rang De Basanti actor, who had recently authored the best-selling book 'The Perils of Being Moderately Famous’, was in the National Capital yesterday, for the launch of a Japanese luxury sanitary brand, Toto.

We Should Not Be Embarrassed But Should Talk Openly About Menstrual Hygiene!

Soha told us that the film industry had been working since long towards changing the stigma surrounding menstrual hygiene. She said: 'All we can do is talk about it more, especially people who are role models - who have the media as a platform take the stigma away from it and talk about hygiene because the lack of hygiene in that department is actually the cause of many health issues, even death related. So, it’s something that we should push and speak about openly and not be embarrassed about. It’s a beautiful thing that enables to give you life'.

Do What Suits You And Your Baby Will Adjust Automatically!

The Pataudi scion, who got married to longtime boyfriend Kunal Khemu in 2015, was blessed with a baby girl named Inaaya Naumi Khemu in 2017, so when asked on how becoming a mother has changed her life, Soha smiled and said, 'I have innumerable tips to give to new mums!'

She continued, 'Pick and choose wisely. Do what suits you and the child will adjust to you. Relax, don’t stress. Focus on things like nutrition and sleep and enable the child to become a part of your environment, as opposed to setting an environment that you have to follow to make the child comfortable, and before you know it, the child will adjust. Children are very robust, so don’t freak out. Every child is different.'

The new mom also shared, that it was yoga which helped her to stay fit during pregnancy and she swears by it.

It Is Shocking How Trolls Get To New Moms!

On being asked about the recent incident of body shaming actress and friend, Neha Dhupia faced on social media, the Oxford graduate asserted that she strongly felt against any kind of body shaming. 'It is a shame if anybody gets body shamed whether you are a man or a woman, by a man or a woman- no matter who you are, whatever shape, size, colour you are. I didn’t read the article, but the headline was shocking on how trolls get to new moms, especially celebrity moms.' She went on to add, 'I think that it’s gravely embarrassing – I am embarrassed for the journalist. I hope she faces some flak for it.'

Soha Ali Khan was last seen on the big screen in the third installment of the romantic thriller drama ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster’, and is currently playing the role of a mother to her darling daughter Inaaya! Nevertheless, we can’t wait to see her on screen again!
