India’s star opener, Smriti Mandhana, has been named the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year for her extraordinary performances in 2024. This marks yet another accolade for Mandhana, who previously won the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year award in 2018 and 2022.

Mandhana outshone several batting powerhouses, including South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, England’s Tammy Beaumont, and West Indies’ Hayley Matthews. Her staggering 747 runs in 13 innings topped the charts in Women’s ODIs last year, comfortably ahead of Wolvaardt (697), Beaumont (554), and Matthews (469). She achieved this with a remarkable average of 57.86 and an impressive strike rate of 95.15, setting an aggressive tone for India’s top order, per ICC Cricket.

2024 also saw Mandhana breaking records, as she became the first woman cricketer to score four ODI centuries in a single year. Additionally, she found the boundary more than 100 times, hitting 95 fours and six sixes, cementing her place as one of the game's most consistent and dominant batters.
