Is It The 76th or 77th Republic Day?
On January 26, 1950, the Constitution of India came into effect, officially establishing India as a democratic republic. The first anniversary of India's republic status was celebrated on January 26, 1951. This year, India marks 75 years since the adoption of the Constitution. Therefore, counting from 1950 as the first Republic Day, India will celebrate its 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025.
Republic Day Parade 2025 Chief Guest
As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding the chief guest for Republic Day2025. However, reports from ANI suggest that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is expected to attend as the chief guest for the 76th Republic Day celebration on January 26, 2025.
Prabowo, Indonesia's former defence minister, was elected president last year. He is an ex-special forces commander and succeeded former president Joko Widodo.
Republic Day Parade 2025 Theme
According to the official My Gov website, the theme for Republic Day 2025 is ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas’. Each year, the Indian government selects a unique theme for the Republic Day celebrations, and this year’s theme highlights India’s rich cultural heritage and its growth and progress over the years.
During the parade at Kartavya Path, tableaux representing 15 states and union territories, including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh, will be showcased. Additionally, 11 contingents from the central government will participate in the grand Republic Day celebrations in 2025.

Republic Day 2025 Tickets
Missed out on tickets for the Republic Day Parade? Due to the high demand for tickets to the Republic Day Celebrations 2025, the Ministry of Defence is now offering passes to attend the ‘Full Dress Rehearsal’ of the parade. The rehearsal will be held at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, on January 23, 2025.

- Aamantran Portal: Visit aamantran.mod.gov.in for online registration.
- Aamantran Mobile App: Download the app from the Mobile Seva App Store for easy access and registration.
These platforms provide a convenient way for users to register and secure passes for the Republic Day celebrations.
