Maha Kumbh began in Praygraj leading to an unexpected arrival of lakhs of people in the city hosting the sacred festival. Considering the crowd and also the chilly weather conditions, several districts have announced that the schools will remain closed for the students. Prayagraj

Prayagraj is hosting the Maha Kumbh, thus the city can expect a huge crowd from across the world. There are no official updates on school closures in the city. However, students are recommended to stay in touch with their school authorities for updates. It might be possible that authorities will switch to online classes, considering the traffic due to Maha Kumbh. According to the Prayagraaj officials as posted by ANI on X, the online classes will remain functional due to traffic congestion on January 15, 2025.

Ghaziabad

Due to severe cold waves, the schools in Ghaziabad, including private, pre-schools, and Anganwadi will remain closed for classes up to class 8th until January 18, 2025. The school is all set to reopen on January 20, 2025.

Lucknow: January 17, 2025
Badaun: January 17, 2025
Moradabad and Rampur: January 16, 2025
Sambhal: January 16, 2025
Shahjahanpur: January 16, 2025
Basti: January 15, 2025
Bareilly, Kasganj, Sonbhadra: January 15, 2025

All these cities are experiencing the coldest weather conditions. Thus, the schools will remain closed till class 8th. However, online classes will remain functional for classes from 9th to 12th.
