Mumbai To Soon Have A New York-Like Central Park: All You Need To Know

The Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) has made a historic decision to support the BMC’s proposal, allowing for the repurposing of a substantial portion of the racecourse for the ‘Central Park’ project. With an overwhelming majority of RWITC members endorsing the return of 120 acres of leased land to the BMC, the stage is set for Mumbai’s Central Park vision to become a reality.

As negotiations progress, it has been agreed that RWITC will retain 91 acres of land, encompassing essential features such as the race tracks, helipad, grandstand, and select horse stables. This ensures the preservation of key elements of the racecourse’s heritage while facilitating the transformation of the remaining 120 acres into a vibrant urban sanctuary.
