Mumbai in March tends to catch people off guard. You expect the weather to cooperate (mostly), and then suddenly the city throws five major concerts at you in the span of two weeks. That's exactly what's happening this month, and if you've been waiting for a good reason to dust off your going-out shoes, consider this your sign.
Whether you're into bone-rattling rock or the kind of electronic music that makes a 4 am crowd feel like one organism, there's something on this list for you. Here's what's happening and why it's worth your time:

Mumbai's hip hop heads have been waiting for this one. Musicland brings together some of the most exciting names in Indian rap right now, Badshah, Seedhe Maut, Chaar Diwari, and Arpit Bala, all on the same stage at MMRDA Grounds. The vibe is festival-style, so expect food, drinks, and the kind of crowd energy that makes a good show feel like a great one.

Same night, different universe. Anjunadeep Open Air is the kind of event that electronic music fans have been quietly hoping would make it to India, and it finally has. The label's signature sound sits somewhere between deep house and something hard to name but easy to feel. CRi, Eli and Fur, Nordfold, and Parallel Voices are headlining, and the outdoor setting at Bayview Lawns should do the music justice.

After touring the country, Pet Fed is all set to wrap up its season in Mumbai — and it’s going to be bigger than ever. Over the past decade, Pet Fed has become a celebration of the bond between pets and their families, drawing thousands of pet parents together each year.

This one isn't a standard concert. Honey Singh's 'My Story India Chapter' is part performance, part conversation; he's spoken before about the years he stepped away from music, and this tour seems to be his way of putting that story on stage. If you grew up with his songs, there's probably something here beyond just nostalgia.

Def Leppard is finally coming to India. For a band with a catalogue spanning five decades, it's genuinely surprising this hasn't happened sooner, but here we are. ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me’, ‘Photograph’, ‘Hysteria’, live, in Mumbai, at Jio World Garden. Classic rock fans don't need to be told twice.

Berlin's Keinemusik collective, Adam Port, &ME, and Rampa, are making their India debut, and it's landing at Mahalaxmi Racecourse. Their sets pull from deep house, melodic techno, and Afro house in a way that never sounds like it's trying too hard. This one will likely sell out, so if you're even slightly curious, don't wait.
March in Mumbai has no shortage of options, the tricky part is choosing. Whether you're making a weekend of it or squeezing in a show between other plans, any of these five events is worth rearranging your schedule for.
