A shocking incident from Madhya Pradesh's Dindori district has sparked widespread outrage after a five-month pregnant woman was allegedly made to clean her deceased husband's bloodstained hospital bed. The disturbing scene, captured on video, shows Roshni using tissues to wipe down the blood-soaked bed where her husband had just passed away.

According to the Times of India, the incident took place in Lalpur village of the tribal-dominated Dindori district, where a violent confrontation erupted over a long-standing land dispute. A father and his three sons were attacked by a mob while attempting to reclaim their land, which had been legally awarded to them through a court ruling in 2018. The attack involved 20 to 25 assailants armed with sticks and sharp tools.

The viral video showing Roshni holding a blood-soaked cloth prompted immediate public backlash. Dr Chandrashekar Tekam of the health centre later clarified that Roshni was not specifically instructed to clean but was collecting blood-soaked clothes to gather evidence, Times of India reported.

"The men were shot at during a land dispute on Thursday and two of them were brought to our facility. The wife of the man who died asked us to let her wipe the blood from the bed with a cloth so she could use it as evidence of the extent of the bleeding. She was not asked to clean the bed. I have not received any complaint from the woman or her family," he said.

Arrests and Investigation

In response to the uproar, authorities took swift action by suspending two nurses and one doctor involved in the incident. Meanwhile, police have arrested four suspects linked to the attack on the Maravi family. These include Ghanshyam Maravi and other relatives of the victims. A case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder and rioting.

The community is now calling for justice for the Maravi family as they grapple with this tragic loss and seek accountability for both the violent attack and the subsequent treatment of Roshni in her time of grief.
