Jhulan Goswami To Receive The Legendary Cricketer Award From Cricket Association Of Bengal

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will give a special award, the “Legendary Cricketer Award”, at its annual prize distribution day on October 29, 2022, to the former Indian cricket captain Jhulan Goswami for her contribution to cricket, taking the game to next level and inspiring millions for people with her hard work and dedication.

She played her final international cricket match against England at Lord's in September 2022 before her retirement. Goswami (Jhulan Goswami Retires: Look At Her Inspiring Journey From Chakdah To India’s Captaincy) holds the record for taking the most wickets in international cricket. She is also one of the all-time fastest bowlers. After a two-year break, the CAB will hold its awards ceremony, which was postponed because of the Covid crisis.

According to a statement from CAB, Indian women's cricketer Deepti Sharma will get the Iconic Cricketer award for her silver-medal performance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The Kartick Bose Lifetime Achievement Award for 2019–2020 will be given to Uday Bhanu Banerjee and Gargi Banerjee. For 2020–2021, Sambaran and Lopamudra Banerjee will each receive the Kartick Bose Lifetime Achievement Award. The Kartick Bose Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Ashok Malhotra and Mithu Mukherjee for 2021–2022.

A Special Award for Excellence in Performance will be given to Richa Ghosh for both her ODI debut and for being a member of the squad that won the Women's Asia Cup in 2022. Shahbaz Ahmed will also receive the Special Award for Excellence in Performance on his ODI debut for India. While Ravi Kumar, Ishan Porel, and Abhishek Porel will receive awards for their debuts in the India A Team, Mukesh Kumar will also receive recognition for his debut in the Junior India Team.
