While the Facebook-owned platform has billions of users around the world and it offers end-to-end encryption during the exchange of messages, there are still ways people can hack your account. Fraudsters trick users to get access to a six-digit code in order to hack their accounts.
However, if you enable the two-step verification, you can save your account from getting hacked even if the fraudster has your code and number.
How To Recover Hacked WhatsApp Account On Android & iPhone
- Download WhatsApp again on your phone.
- Log in using your mobile number
- Much like before, you will receive an SMS with a verification code with six digits.
- If you will allow it, WhatsApp will be able to read the code and verify the number. You can also add the code manually.
Once your verification is done, the hacker will automatically be logged out of your account. However, if the hacker had already activated two-step verification, you would be asked to enter another code. In such cases, you will have to wait for a week to gain access to your hacked account. The only plus side to this is while you wait, even the hacker will not be able to access your chats and other details in your account.
