ChiChi Viral MMS Video: A new trend, ‘ChiChi Call Viral Video Call’, is taking over social media, fueling curiosity and alarm simultaneously. Posts claim that a private video call involving Filipino lifestyle influencer Vera Hill has been leaked online. However, cybersecurity experts have stated clearly that there is no verified video clip of this kind being distributed, and the whole incident is a well-planned scam orchestrated to lure victims into clicking harmful links.
Several fact-checks have verified the distribution of credible video clips; none were found. The videos and photos being shared on social media platforms like TikTok, Facebook, Telegram, and Reddit are, instead, heavily edited, misleading, or completely unrelated to the event, and are used to trick the viewers into clicking. Vera Hill, widely known on social media as ChiChi, is a travel and lifestyle content creator, and the conspiracy around her seems completely fabricated.

The ‘ChiChi Call’ scandal is what security experts call a 'ghost file' scam. Hackers useSEO poisoning methods to make fake blog pages and websites rank higher on search engines with relevant phrases such as ‘ChiChi video call full’ or ‘ChiChi leaked MMS’. These keywords lead the searches straight to their malicious websites.
Upon clicking the link, the user is redirected to a fake streaming site. This could automatically pull the user's IP address from your device. Often, the page prompts users to sign in with their Facebook ID as an ‘age verification’ or ‘confirmation’ of their identity. However, this is a phishing page, and this is where your login credentials are at stake.
In other versions of the scam, you might be prompted to download and install a browser plug-in or a piece of software which contains malware and can install viruses onto your device that would steal your personal details, bank account and passwords in a flash.
Vera Hill, popularly known as ChiChi, is a Filipino travel and lifestyle influencer. She is not involved in any leaked video controversy, and the viral claims using her name are completely fabricated.

Constant redirection to multiple web pages is a sure-fire way to know if it's a fraud. If social media account logins are requested to ‘verify’ the video, consider it suspicious. The phrase ‘Install this plugin to continue watching’ is an undeniable red flag of a malicious program.
Even fake posts on Telegram or Reddit that claim to be distributing an ‘uncut’ or ‘full version’ are a form of the same trap. Scammers bank on the fact that most people would not think twice and will jump at the opportunity to see exclusive content.

According to India's Information Technology Act 2000, producing or distributing private content without the consent of the person filmed is an illegal activity and doing so could land the user in legal trouble, especially if the posted content is considered a case of character assassination.
