India is a country that is both blessed and cursed by spirituality. Believing in the power of spirituality is one thing and being looted by a so-called baba in the name of it is an unfortunate other. What might be the reason? Illiteracy? I guess not! I’ve seen highly educated scholars wasting their life’s fortune on a spiritual scammer dressed as a messenger of god. The human beings who claim to have superpowers or disguise themselves as the incarnation of gods are actually good at something, which is lying and fooling others. And we Indians are popular for buying everything they say.

The bigotry of these babas leads to parents disowning their own kids. It brands them as abnormal and also subjects them to horrifying cures/ techniques. The irony is that irrespective of India being called the land of spiritualism, it is full of un-spiritual babas who have been accused of crimes and have even been convicted.

So, how are these fake godmen possessed with so much power in the first place? Who gave them the right to fool, deceive and use people to such an extent? The answer is our blind faith in spirituality. There is a fine line between believing and blind faith which often gets blurred for some people. This is what some scammers take advantage of. By pretending to have god-given powers, being a messenger of god, or even presenting themselves as an incarnation of god, they scam certain people.

You must be living in a bubble if you don’t know who this person is! Shri Aniruddhacharya is a religious leader who educates the devotees on various religious and spiritual topics. But that’s not the thing he is getting all the fame for. Aniruddhacharya Ji has been dominating our Instagram reels section for a while now and all for the wrong reasons. Behind all the memes made about him, what people fail to see is how big of a fool he is making society. The rubbish he speaks and the way he behaves is everything but a ‘baba’ behaviour.

As his devotees come to him with bizarre problems, one Reddit user revealed that it's nothing but a promotion for his gurukul. “Promotion for his gurukul clearly, all staged...saw a meme of this guy driving 1 crore car in one part and giving gyaan on the non accumulation of wealth in another, hilarious,” a user commented.

In another absurd video, the baba is seen claiming that the women who don’t listen to their husbands or MIL or those who don’t do household chores are considered women of third quality. He further said the wives who defy their husbands are pure China models. Do you know what’s even more insane? The women sitting in his santang agreed happily to everything he was saying.
