Fortnite, one of the world’s most popular battle royale games, has officially returned to the iPhone App Store in the US. This marks the end of a five-year absence triggered by a high-profile legal battle with Apple over in-app payment commissions.

Epic Games announced the game’s long-awaited comeback in a post on Tuesday, stating, “Fortnite hailed its app's long-awaited restoration to the iPhone and iPad.” The game was removed from Apple’s App Store in 2020 after Epic attempted to bypass Apple's standard commission fees of 15-30% on in-app purchases.

Fortnite Availability: iOS Only in the US – Android Users Unaffected

Currently, iOS users in the US can download Fortnite directly from the App Store. However, this access remains US-exclusive for now. Apple’s earlier ban on Fortnite followed a legal conflict around its payment system, which has since changed.

For iPhone and iPad users outside the US, Fortnite is still unavailable via the App Store. However, players can stream the game using Xbox Cloud Gaming or GeForce NOW, though these methods require fast internet connections and do not involve local storage.

How to Download Fortnite in 2025 For Android

• Download the Epic Games App from the official Epic website or the Samsung Galaxy Store.
• Initial APK download size: \~3.5 GB
• Post-install downloads: Up to 10–13 GB
• Recommended free space: 15 GB minimum

If your phone doesn't meet the hardware requirements, the Epic Games App will block the download.
