Diwali 2024:The preparations for the Diwali celebration are in full sway but a lot of people are unsure about the exact date of Deepavali. Five Days Of Diwali Festival: Date And Significance Of Each Day 2024
The five-day festival of Diwali will commence with Dhanteras on October 28, 2024, this year. On this day, the devotees honour the goddess of wealth and the god of death. “People also buy gold and silver on this occasion since it is said to be propitious,” shared Geeta Ji.
The astrologer also said that the second occasion is Naraka Chaturdashi, often known as Chhoti Diwali which will celebrated on October 29, this year. “This festival commemorates a man who had astruggle with Lord Krishna and Rama,Narakasura, which is the struggle of light against darkness,” she added.
“The primary event of the Diwali festivities will be held on November 1, this year. The Lakshmi Puja will be celebrated on November 1, when families decorate their homes with lights and followers of Goddess Lakshmi pray to her for happiness and prosperity,” said Geeta Katyal.

She said November 2, 2024, will be the Govardhan Puja which is done in remembrance of Lord Krishna sheltering his devotees from violent rainfall. It is also a day to appreciate the bounty of nature and the food that we receive from it.
“Finally, the festivities will conclude on November 3, 2024, with Bhai Dooj where sisters pray for the well-being and prosperity of their brothers and vice versa. It is also called the festival of siblings,” shared the astrologer.
Diwali 2024 Shubh Muhurat
“It is believed that the performance of activities during the Shubh Muhurat on Diwali is beneficial for attracting prosperity over all five days,”said astrologer Geeta. This year, you are advised to perform the Lakshmi Puja between 6:25 pm and 8:21 pm. According to Vedic traditions, these sacred practices during Diwali promote Shakti and auspiciousness in one’s life.
