Wrapped up in a blanket of dense fog, Delhiites are experiencing less to no visibility on Wednesday, leading to delays or cancellations in work. Several regions of Delhi-NCR especially Noida and Ghaziabad experienced zero visibility during the morning hours amid intense fog and harsh cold weather conditions. The visibility issues have led to the cancellation of over 100 flights and 26 train services have been hit. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light showers or drizzle on Wednesday lowering the temperature to nine degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature settles at 19 degrees Celsius.
Over 100 Flights And 26 Trains Delayed Amid Delhi Fog
As per ANI report, the thick layer of fog has delayed as many as 26 trains. Also, PTI reported that over 100 flights were delayed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International(IGI) airport due to extremely dense fog and poor visibility conditions. However, an airport official clarified that there haven’t been any cancellations or diversions. Earlier, Delhi Airports shared an advisory on the X post that read, “While landings and take-offs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected.”

"Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," it added.
IndiGo Airlines also cautioned the passengers stating, “Low visibility and fog over Delhi may lead to some delays. We are keeping a close watch on the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly.”
“We request that you stay updated on your flight status via our website or app. Be assured, our teams are here to assist you at every step and ensure support,” it added.
The Weather Office Forecast Shallow Fog In The Evening And Night
The weather office also forecasts shallow fog or smog in the evening and night. Stills across Delhi, including from India Gate, Nirankari Colony, Dhaula Kuan, and Shankar Vihar, show the intensity of the dense fog on the roads.
