Bhadrapada Purnima 2024 Puja Rituals

Here’s a step-by-step guide to performing Bhadrapada Purnima fast and performing rituals on this day:
- Begin your day with an early morning bath. It symbolises spiritual cleansing, which is necessary before participating in any puja ritual.
- Take a solemn vow (sankalp) to observe the fast with complete dedication and devotion.
- Properly and thoroughly clean your home and puja space before placing the god idols.
- Place an idol of Lord Satynarayan, accompanied by the Shree Yantra (representing Goddess Lakshmi). Decorate the idols with a yellow flower garland and offer sweets and tulsi leaves, an essential offering for Lord Vishnu.
- Place a Kalash (sacred pot) in front of the idol and chant Lord Vishnu’s Mantras.
- Before sunset, recite the story of Lord Satyanarayan to evoke and deepen your connection to the divine.
- Prepare Panchamrit and Panjeeri made with ghee-roasted wheat flour, sugar, and bananas and offer it to the god. Conclude the puja with aarti.
- After the puja, offer the Kalash water to the moon deity while chanting his mantras.
