The ruling Bhartiya Janata Party got one more high-profile names on its rolls. Ace Badminton player and Olympic medalist, Saina Nehwal joined the BJP along with her elder sister,Chandranshu Nehwalin the presence of party's National General Secretary Arun Singh.Addressing the press conference after joining the BJP, Saina Nehwal said, "Today I have joined a party that has done a lot for the country. I hope to do a lot of good work."
The badminton player, who hails from Haryana, had also spoken in support of BJP and its schemes several times in the past. She was also one of the first celebrities who lauded the government for implementing Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Not only Saina, but several other sportspersons are also impressed by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and joined BJP in the past.
Babita Phogat
Recently,Wrestler Babita Phogat joined the BJP along with her father Mahavir Singh Phogat in the presence of Union minister Kiren Rijiju. After joining the party, Babita tweeted, "Today I am making a new beginning in politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party! I also urge you to join hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party and strengthen the hands of the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi."
Sandeep Singh
Hockey player, Sandeep Singh had also joined the BJP ahead of the Haryana assembly elections last year.

Yogeshwar Dutt
Last year, Olympic Medallist and Padma Shri winner Yogeshwar Dutt also joined the BJP in the presence of Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala. In a press conference after joining the political party, Yogeshwar Dutt said, "I want to serve the people. I’ve been influenced by Modji and hence I decided to join BJP. I’ve been following him for a long time. It’s important to come forward to do good work, including sportspersons. I’m happy to be part of this family."
Gautam Gambhir
Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir made his political debut in 2019.The 37-year-old joined the party in the presence of Union ministers Arun Jaitley and Ravi Shankar Prasad.
