Also, since Holi is all about playing with colours, dancing to peppy dance numbers, you would not want to stay back home, spending hours in the kitchen.

To make it easier for you, here we have three easy Holi snacks recipes you can prepare at home in bulk and once you are done with playing Holi you can head straight back home and relish these delicious snacks.

Coconut Gujiya

Holi celebrations are incomplete without gujiyas. Instead of going for the regular recipe, try this crispy, delicious sweet snack oozing with coconutty flavour.

Ingredients Required

  • 250 Gram All Purpose Flour Or Maida
  • Ghee As Required
  • Sugar As Per Taste
  • 1-2 Tsp Cardamom Powder
  • Water As Required
  • 1 Cup Mixed Dry Fruits
  • 2-3 Cups Coconut Powder

Directions

  • Prepare a dough by mixing water and all purpose flour. Add 1 tsp of ghee too. Let this dough rest for 10-15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare a stuffing using powdered coconut and chopped dry fruits. Saute the mixture in some ghee. Also, add cardamom powder as per taste. Take off the flame and keep aside.
  • Divide the dough in small balls and roll them into small rounds using a rolling pin.
  • Fill in the coconut mixture. Fold the dough in the gujiya mould or manually. Seal from all sides using water or ghee.
  • In a pan, add ghee and fry the gujiyas. Take off the flame and store in a box.

Mini Dry Fruit Kachoris

Who doesn't love bingeing on this flavourful snack? We all do! Treat your guests with this sweet-savoury snack this Holi.

Ingredients Required

  • 1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1/4 Tsp Ajwain Or Carom Seeds
  • Ghee As Required
  • Salt As Required
  • 1 Tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Sesame Seeds
  • 1/2 Cup Sev/Bhujiya
  • Dry Fruit Of Choice
  • Water As Required
  • Red Chilli Powder As Required
  • Oil For Frying

Directions

  • Make a dough using whole wheat flour, water and carom seeds. Cover and let it set for about 10-15 minutes.
  • In a grinder, add all the dry fruit of choice and pulse to get a coarse mix. Add in the rest of the ingredients and keep aside.
  • Make small balls from the dough and fill them with the mixture. Seal the edges and prepare small kachoris.
  • Heat oil and fry all the kachoris. You can make these in 2-3 batches depending on the number of guests you are hosting.

Lobia Chaat

If you wish to offer a healthy, filling snack for the Holi party then try this lobia chaat recipe.

Ingredients Required

  • 1 Cup Lobia Or Black Eyed Beans (Soaked)
  • 2 Chopped Tomatoes
  • 2 Chopped Onions
  • 1 Chopped Cucumber
  • Green Chillies As Per Taste
  • Chaat Masala As Required
  • Salt And Pepper As Required
  • Lemon Juice As Required

Directions

  • Soak lobia or black eye beans overnight or for four hours.
  • Pressure cook lobia with some salt for 20-30 minutes.
  • In a bowl, add boiled lobia, chopped onion, tomato and cucumber.
  • Add in chopped green chillies, chaat masala, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Squeeze in some lemon juice.
  • Toss the lobia chaat and add salt and chaat masala if required. This chaat can be stored in the refrigerator and served as a cold snack.
