One of the much-awaited movies of 2024, the movie went on to shatter many box office records with its hefty Day 1 collection. Apart from becoming one of the highest opening movies in Bollywood of all time, it has also beaten many successful movies that gained a notable box office collection on Day 1. The Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee starrer horror comedy flick ‘Stree 2’ has outperformed its prequel ‘Stree’ at the box office. Due to its release during the Independence Day 2024 long weekend, it has collected a record-breaking number despite clashes with other significant movie releases.

Earlier scheduled to release on August 15, 2024, the movie’s release was shifted a night before for a special screening. According to a Sacnilk report, the movie is estimated to have made a staggering ₹58.1 crore on its opening day nationwide. On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, the movie made ₹8 crore while the following day, it grossed ₹46 crore approximately which took its total tally to ₹54.25 crore. ‘Stree 2’ has broken the Day 1 box office collection record of ‘Fighter’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Hindi release. It is the highest-grosser of 2024 and the third highest-grossing Hindi film on Day 1 ever after ‘Jawan’ ( ₹65.5 crore) and ‘Pathaan’ ( ₹55 crore).
