Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, Ulajh Advance Booking: Barely 1000 Tickets Sold, A Disastrous Opening Ahead

Is 2024 an unlucky year for most Bollywood movies? Where movies like ‘Crew’, ‘Article 370’, ‘Shaitaan’, and ‘Chandu Champion’ garnered positive responses and a hefty box office collection, many other movies have failed to touch the mark of a “hit” movie. ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ and ‘Ulajh’ are on the verge of joining the list as they sell below 1000 tickets during their advance bookings. Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, Ulajh Advance Booking

Directed by Neeraj Panday, the Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Saiee Manjrekar, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Jimmy Shergill starrer ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ is off to a rough start at the box office. As per a Bollywood Hungama report, the movie has not even sold 1000 tickets for day 1 during its advance bookings across three national theatre chains. The movie was earlier scheduled to be released on the same day as ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, however, the release date was shifted to avoid potential loss. 

Starring Janhvi Kapoor, Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Meiyang Chang, Rajesh Tailang, and Sachin Khedekar, ‘Ulajh’ has also emerged as a movie with an expected disastrous opening. The Sudhanshu Saria directorial political thriller has only been able to sell 750 tickets through advance booking for day 1. Despite creating immense buzz and fans awaiting to see Janhvi Kapoor in a bold role, the movie may not garner enough box office collection.

Ajay Devgn, Tabu, And Janhvi Kapoor Box Office Performance

Ajay Devgn has previously had a difficult time performing at the box office with movies like ‘Runway 34’, ‘Aakrosh’, ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’, ‘Tezz’, and ‘Rascals’ which had moderate to low-paced openings. However, his last few releases including ‘Drishyam 2’ and ‘Shaitaan’ performed immensely well. 

Tabu recently delivered a hit movie ‘Crew’ alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon which went on to become the highest-grossing women-centric Bollywood film. She has previously delivered other hit movies including ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, ‘Andhadhun’, and ‘Drishyam’.

Janhvi Kapoor, on the other hand, has yet to deliver hit movies. While only her debut movie ‘Dhadak’ (2018) was a commercial success, her other films like ‘Mili’, ‘Roohi’ and ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ were not up to the mark.
