The new release date for the classic 1993 Japanese-Indian animation movie Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama has been announced. According to Geek Pictures India, the movie will be released in theatres in different languages on January 24, 2025. Scroll down to learn more about the release.

Ramayana Re-Release

According to Geek Pictures, a classic 1993 Japanese-Indo movie, Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is all set to release in cinemas on January 24, 2025, in a 4K remaster, with enhanced visuals and audio. The movie will be available in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, apart from its original English version.
The Geek Pictures India took to Instagram to share the announcement. The post read:

“The wait is over! Experience India’s greatest epic in all its glory! Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama releasing on January 24, 2025, in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu.
An unmissable 4K experience awaits!
Trailer out in 2 days!”

Excel Movies also took to Instagram to share the re-release of this classic anime.

Earlier the movie was set to release in theatres with new dubs on October 18, 2024. However, Geek Pictures India announced that it will be released later. The trailer will be released online on Friday, January 10, 2025.

About The Movie

This classic anime is directed by Yugo Sako, Ram Mohan, and Koichi Sasaki. The film is based on Valmiki’s epic story of Ramayana with music composed by Vanraj Bhatia. Ramayan star Arun Govil voiced the character of Rama, Namrata Sawhney voiced Sita, the late Amrish Puri lent his voice to Raavan and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha worked as the narrator.

Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama was earlier screened in India at the 24th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 1993. However, the movie wasn’t released in theatres. It gained popularity among Indian audiences on its re-runs on TV channels in the early 2000s.
