Citadel: Star Cast To OTT Release, All Details About Priyanka Chopra's Upcoming Series

Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden are in India promoting their upcoming series Citadel. Sharing a few clips on Instagram from the first promotion event, Chopra on her caption wrote, “First stop: Home!!!… Followed by the world! Kicking off the promotions of our show Citadel in India (heart emoji).”

Prime Video India commented, “There is a lot more action coming your way.”

Produced by the Russo Brothers, the action-thriller series stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden as leads. Others include Stanley Tucci, Leo Woodall, Caoilinn Springall, Lesley Manville, Roland Moller, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ashleigh Cummings, Sara Martins, Susan Lynch, Osy Ikhile and Laetitia Eido.

The series will hit Amazon Prime Video with its first two episodes on April 28 and will be available to watch in English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The first season will feature six episodes, and it has already been renewed for season two in March 2023.

It will also have spin-offs in different languages and countries. Amazon said, "All of the local series are meant to enhance the entire entertainment experience and will be available for the viewer to deep dive into an imagined layered world."

According to reports, it is touted to be the most expensive show, after The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, made on the budget of $250 million.

The Indian version will have Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhuas leads, and Raj & DK will direct it. An Italian version of it will be co-produced by Amazon Studios and Cattleya.

Citadel is a spy world. We have caught a few details from the trailer alone. Mason Kane, played by Madden, and Nadia Sinh, played by Chopra, are two spies who were backstabbed by one of their colleagues.

He had removed all their memories forcing them to live a normal life. However, their past caught up with them, and soon, the two of them got their memories back. They are searching for the person who betrayed them and are sure that they would be planning something big. Kane and Madden embark on the action ride to solve the mystery and save people.

In an interview, Madden explained the plot and said, "There are multiple characters and multiple storylines that all intertwine, and I personally play a character who is an amnesiac—eight years of his life, he’s basically become a new person. There's a journey of discovering who he was before the accident happened, and he no longer remembers anything. It's a clash between the life that he's been living for eight years, and the life that he used to live. You get to delve into exploring the psyche of dealing with the consequences of things that you're not aware that you've done."

While talking to WWD about Citadel, Priyanka Chopra said she was doing a spy show with the Russo brothers for Amazon Prime with Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci. "It’s called Citadel and it’s really going to be amazing. It was a lot of work. I have a lot of scars to prove it.”
