Film trade analyst, Komal Nahta took to his Twitter handle and shared Pathaan's national collections. His tweet read, "Some films just don’t stop throwing surprises. When the trade was estimating day 2 of ‘Pathaan’ to be Rs. 65 crore or thereabouts (after Rs. 57 crore for day 1), comes the surprising figure of approximately 72-73 crore. Hindi: 70-plus, others: 2.50. Exact figures awaited. Gosh!"
Shah Rukh Khan plays the titular role in the spy thriller. Padukone plays the other spy fighting terrorist group leader, Jim, who is played by John Abraham. With record breaking advance bookings and great first day collections, looks like Pathaan will have a great run at the box office and further revive the magic of movies in theatres.
