‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ Twitter Review: Pawan Kalyan’s highly anticipated action-comedy, ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’, finally hit theatres on March 19, 2026, perfectly timed to cash in on the festive Ugadi weekend. Directed by Harish Shankar, the movie generated massive buzz long before it hit theatres. The film premiered in North America on March 18, 2026, before opening across India, and fans wasted no time sharing their thoughts.
As expected, fans flooded X after the first screenings. However, the reactions are mixed. Whilst die-hard fans are praising Pawan Kalyan’s energy and the nostalgic callbacks to his older hits, regular moviegoers and critics are calling the film an outdated commercial potboiler.

Viewers are sharply divided on the script and execution. Here is a look at what people are posting online:
Venky Reviews (@venkyreviews), “#UstaadBhagatSingh A Completely Outdated Commercial Entertainer! A commercial film like this doesn’t necessarily need out of the box writing, but it atleast needs some freshness. This one feels outdated to the core from the start to end. A few elevation blocks work, but the film lacks flow, feeling like a stitched together compilation of commercial scenes. Harish Shankar falters on both comedy and commercial writing. Thaman tries to elevate with his BGM but has little scope. PK tries in parts, but this one misses his trademark energy. Boring! Rating: ⅖.”

Christopher Kanagaraj (@Chrissuccess), “#UstaadBhagatSingh - PK’s look, Screen presence & Dialogues r the positives in this Routine, Outdated Drama. Parthiban Naidu as weak villain. Sreeleela ok. Raashi Khanna has no scope. Thaman does a Anirudh work in BGM. One melody track nice. Narration is a Patience Tester. BORE!”

The makers initially scheduled the film to release on March 26, 2026. However, they pushed the date to March 19, 2026, to utilise the lucrative Ugadi holidays. This shift happened shortly after Yash postponed his upcoming action film, ‘Toxic’.

While advancing the release date gives ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ a head start on the holiday crowd, it also sets up a massive box office battle. Pawan Kalyan’s film is now clashing directly with Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’. Dhar's project has already built immense momentum following strong early previews, meaning Ustaad Bhagat Singh will need more than just star power to dominate the ticket windows this week.
