About RRR

RRR was one of the biggest box office hits of 2022 after collecting an estimated ₹1,150–₹1,200 crores. Set in 1920, the film revolves around two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), and their fight against British Rule. It also explores the undocumented period in their lives when both the revolutionaries chose to go into obscurity before they began the fight for their country.

As per the reports, RRR has spent a whopping ₹83 crores on the campaigns of the international awards including Oscars and Golden Globes after the film was not selected as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards. While some portion of the expenses were taken from the box-office collections of the film, Rajamouli contributed a massive share to this campaign from his account.
