The trailer of ‘Merry Christmas’ that stars Bollywood’s diva Katrina Kaif and South superstar Vijay Sethupati is out now. The project is helmed by Sriram Raghavan, the genius behind hits such as ‘Badlapur’ and ‘Andhadun’.

Right in time for Christmas, the trailer of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupati has been released and taken the internet by storm. The movie is set to release on January 12, 2024

As soon as the trailer of Sriram Raghavan’s thriller flick, ‘Merry Christmas’ begins, we see the imagery of two mixer grinders, one mixing peanuts and red chillies and the other containing what resembles sleeping pills.

The trailer takes us back to a scene from the filmmaker’s last directorial venture, the 2018 thriller ‘Andhadun’ starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte. The particular scene that has an uncanny resemblance with the ‘Merry Christmas’ trailer; is when Tabu’s character ‘Nimi’ uses the mixer grinder to make a crab puree and pitches it to her husband as an ‘aphrodisiac’.

The ‘Merry Christmas’ trailer swiftly moves and introduces the audience to a world where Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupati’s characters meet each other for the first time on Christmas eve; which leads the plot on to dramatic events that end up putting both the characters in a lot of trouble. We also see Sanjay Kapoor making an appearance and yesteryear actor Tinnu Anand’s voice over that introduces us to the setup of ‘Merry Christmas’.

There are enough signs in the movie to point towards the fact that something is going wrong. In a shot from the trailer, Katrina Kaif asks Vijay Sethupati to pick between her two fingers. Following which she reveals a postcard with a picture of young Rajesh Khanna, that says, “The night is darkest before the dawn.”

A yellow teddy bear falls flat on the ground and is seen set on fire later in the trailer. At another point, it is held by a little girl who seems to be playing Katrina’s daughter in the movie.
