The trailer for Ground Zero is out! Starring Emraan Hashmi, Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain, Mukesh Tiwari, Deepak Parmesh, Lalit Prabhakar, Rockey Raina, and Rahul Vohra, among others, the film is based on true events. The latest promotional clip comes more than a week after the movie's teaser was shared by makers on March 28. Ground Zero is slated to hit cinema halls on April 25, 2025.

Ground Zero Trailer: What Does It Show?

The trailer for Ground Zero starts by showing a morose capture of Kashmir's famous Dal Lake with smoke billowing out in the background. The year is 2001 when Jammu and Kashmir was embroiled in a massive political turmoil with terrorism wreaking havoc on the picturesque state.

A voiceover, heard by Army officers on duty, says, "Pathhar k din gaye...asli shor machana hai toh pistol chalana hoga (the days of stone pelting are over...to make a difference, we must fire bullets)," setting the tone for the trailer. Another voice continues to say how a real mujahideen is identified by only things: "Dil mein junoon (passion in the heart) aur haath mein bandook (a gun in the hand)."

As this plays, we see how a soldier, calmly drinking tea in a busy marketplace is shot down from behind, creating chaos and commotion. Intense and non-stop gunfight scenes follow, after which we get to hear Ghazi's voice that emphasises how he will avenge Kashmir, which means more bloodshed and violence.

To note, Ghazi Baba was Jaish-e-Mohammed's top-ranking commander and masterminded the December 13, 2001 Indian Parliament attack. He was also involved in car blasts at the Army headquarters in Srinagar on April 19, 2000, and December 25, 2000. Further, Ghazi's name is included in the Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly car bombing that happened on October 1, 2001.

Emraan Hashmi Is Controlled in Ground Zero Trailer

Enter BSF's coveted officer, Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who's in Kashmir not just to eliminate the terrorists but also to urge the youths to give up on arms. His approach is humane as he thinks that both Kashmir's land and its people belong to India.

We also see him trying to drill sense into a young man having an interest in art asking him not to take up guns instead of paint brush. The next few sequences are all about the volatile situation Kashmir is in and how Ghazi remains the mysterious man and a faceless enemy in the shadows.

A bomb blast happens and an enraged officer Dubey says that BSF has to now become a sword from a shield and that they are done with protecting, implying that they are ready to attack. "Ab prahaar hoga (it's time to attack)," he shouts and his men echo the same.

As the trailer comes to an end, we see tragic scenes of families losing their loved ones, Dubey in tears, and a general gloomy atmosphere, establishing that terrorism doesn't make anyone victorious.

Hashmi as Dubey owns every frame with his commanding yet balanced performance. Meanwhile, others give apt shoulders to the narrative.

Ground Zero is slated to hit cinema halls on April 25, 2025.
