Brahmastra: Isha's Connection With Astraverse To Dev's Story, 5 Highlights Expected From Parts 2 & 3

Ayan Mukerji has announced the release time of the second and third parts of the Brahmastra Trilogy. We are expecting to see Deepika Padukone as Jalastra and learn the whole truth behind Isha’s role in the Astraverse.

Director Ayan Mukerji made a crucial announcement regarding the Brahmastra Trilogy. In a long letter, he shared when to expect the releases of the second and third parts.

He also made a special announcement regarding another project he would be working on. However, he said he would share the details when the time would be right.

Brahmastra Part 2 & 3 Release Dates

Mukerji wrote, “After absorbing all the love and the feedback on Part One… I have been focused on creating the Vision for Part Two and Part Three - which I now know will be bigger and more ambitious than Part One!”

He added that he had learnt that he would need more time to perfect the script of Brahmastra Two and Three. For the first part, while everyone praised the VFX, many pointed out that the dialogues were not up to the mark, especially in the case of Alia Bhatt’s character Isha.

Ayan Mukerji said that parts two and three would be made simultaneously, which would allow the team to release them closer together. He has a timeline in place that he would be sharing with the audience.

He also shared on Instagram that soon he would be working on a special project. “A very special movie - to step into and direct! What the movie is… More on that when the time is right :),” he wrote.

He said this new opportunity would help him learn, and the new challenges seem exciting to him. “One where I will learn, be inspired and where I will grow!”

He ended the note by saying that he would accept the challenges and new opportunities to do his best for Indian cinema.

Brahmastra Part Two: Dev will hit theatres in December 2026, and Brahmastra Part Three will release in December 2027.

What To Expect From Parts 2 & 3

Story Of Dev

It is confirmed from Ayan's post that the second part would be all about Dev. We are expecting to see how he became so powerful, how he was able to control multiple astras, his equation with Amrita (Jalastra), and why he was after Brahmastra.

Deepika Padukone In Full-Fledged Role

On the OTT release of the film, we saw that it was Deepika Padukone who held baby Ranbir Kapoor in the house that caught fire. We are expecting to see Deepika Padukone as Amrita (Jalastra) and what happened between her and Dev, according to the story narrated by Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Guru Arvind.

The way part one ended, people were guessing who would be paired against Padukone. Most people on social media are convinced that it would be Ranveer Singh.

In part one, we saw Shah Rukh Khan and Nagarjuna as Vanarastra and Nandi Astra. Between parts two and three, we will get to know their backstory, and if they all were together in the past.

Isha’s Connection With Astraverse

While Isha, played by Alia Bhatt, was just the heroine of Shiva. However, as the film proceeded, it was clear that she was no ordinary woman. She ended up becoming the caretaker of Pawanastra after Little Tenzing fell off the cliff. We can expect the story to reveal her connection with the Atraverse (all about the Astraverse).

There are fan theories that suggest she might be the Jalastra after Amrita. Many people think that she was able to control Shiva, therefore, she had to be the counter of fire.

Face Off Between Shiva & Dev

Now that we know Shiva became the Brahmastra, he would be more powerful than Dev. However, we can expect to see a face-off in the third part. While Shiva was introduced as a protagonist, Dev was the antagonist. It would be a one-of-a-kind experience in theatres with stunning VFX in place.
