World Health Organisation (WHO) has shared some guidelines and ways which can help breastfeeding mothers who have covid-19. This is a testing time for the entire world. From senior citizens to working adults to children and infants. Many cases have come up across the globe at an alarming rate and it is sparing no one. So mothers who have been effected and have to breastfeed te to do so, as long as you follow these rules. So here we go...

It is extremely important that you wear a mask especially when you are in so close contact with an infant which has a very low immunity.

This is a rule anyway when you handle babies but if you have not made it a practice then please do. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after touching the baby.

If Unwell To Feed

If a woman with COVID-19 is unwell to feed then she can be supported to safely provide with breastmilk in other ways. You could use a breast pump, relactation, donor human milk.

On March 25, starting 12 a.m, India went under total lockdown for straight 21 Days. PM Modi announced this in his speech on March 24. The United Nation Organisation infact expressed solidarity with India. This is a very important much needed step that India had to take to fight against coronavirus.

WHO called this move comprehensive and robust. 

Speaking in terms of the worldwide impact that pandemic Coronavirus has had until now is immense and alarming. The death toll has risen to 18,915 with more than 422,900 cases in over 165 countries and territories, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

 

On Wednesday, March 25, the number of coronavirus cases in India stood at 562 with nine COVID-19 deaths reported so far, according to Health Ministry data.
