The Hindustan Times has reported that the actor was busy shooting throughout the day and experienced no health ailments. He was also spotted joking around the sets of the film and enjoying his time during the shoot.
He went home and complained to his wife about feeling uneasy. Though Deepti Talpade rushed him to the hospital immediately, he reportedly collapsed on the way, and the hospital is yet to issue any update on the actor’s health.
With rising heart attacks, here are a few facts you must know about angioplasty, a common procedure used to treat the condition.
When coronary arteries are blocked, a person can suffer a heart attack. To restore the blood flow to the heart, angioplasty is performed as an emergency procedure to save the life of a patient. But it is also an elective procedure in case a healthcare expert suspects that a person might be suffering from heart disease.
The process does not include major incisions on any body parts, and therefore, it is considered a minimally invasive procedure. Since it is not a major operation, the risks associated with it are comparatively fewer than let’s say an open-heart surgery.
While performing angioplasty on a patient, a doctor inserts a catheter, a long yet thin tube, into a blood vessel to navigate and eliminate the blockage. The end of the tube has a balloon which when inflated presses the blood clot against the walls of the artery and restores the blood flow.
The doctor uses fluoroscopy, similar to an X-ray, that guides them to locate the blockage. This process is called coronary angiography.
