This is no secret that Yoga works in tremendous ways for the body. It not only works on your mind and body but also on your skin. Everyone wants beautiful and healthy-looking skin. They are ready to pay thousands of rupees for beauty products and treatments. Whereas, all you really need is some daily yoga practice. Equate your time invested with money. Dr.Hansaji Yogendra, Director at The Yoga Institute says that when we practice yoga, our internal organs are directly stimulated and they get a good massage. This, in turn, helps them to function better and improve blood circulation in the body. When the facial muscles receive this oxygenated and fresh blood, it automatically reflects in your skin quality.
Here are 2 yoga asanas suggested by Dr.Hansaji Yogendra that you must practice to get healthy and glowing skin:
Dhanurvakrasana

This asana puts great pressure on the abdominal area as the entire body is balancing on the navel area. This helps to pump out any stagnant blood and improves your circulation. It also improves the digestive system, which is another cause of your skin issues.
For this asana:
- Lie down on your stomach.
- Bend your knees and fold your legs toward the back and grasp the ankles.
- Inhaling, simultaneously lift the head and legs up, arching the spine.
- Retain this position for six seconds and gently release it.

Yoga Mudra
Since you are bending forward in this asana, the abdominal muscles get a good compression in this pose. This also increases the blood circulation towards the head, thereby healing the skin from within.
For this asana:
- Sit in padmasana or sukhasana and clasp your hands behind the back.
- Bend forward to touch your forehead to the ground while exhaling.
- Hold the position for six seconds.
- Inhaling, raise your torso up to the sitting position.
Along with these asanas, you must also practice Yogendra Pranayama IV, also known as diaphragmatic breathing. This helps to further oxygenate your blood and improve its quality.
