We are still not over Hina Khan's debut at the Cannes. She was a true fashionista at the red carpet as she walked with panache in a diamond grey heavy embellished gown by Ziad Nakad. Her turquoise eye makeup, sleek hair and minimal accessories only added to her overall look and made her own the red carpet right away. We had all our eyes on our girl as she laughed and giggled while posing for the shutterbugs at the red carpet.
She looked stunning. No? Her friends from the industry couldn't stop praising her on their social media handles but then came in a really bizarre Instagram story. So, a popular Bollywood magazine's editor Jitesh Pillai posted a picture of Hina Khan from the Cannes on his Insta handle and wrote, "Cannes has suddenly become chandivali studios kya?" We are really shocked reading his comment, it seems derogatory and just like us, it didn't go well with the members of the TV industry.
Producer and Director Vikas Kalantri first took to his Instagram handle and shared how appalled he is to read the editor's comment. He shared a snapshot of his story and captioned it, Appalling to see when a senior journalist like @jiteshpillaai looks down upon a person @realhinakhan who has worked her way up and worked hard & reached where she has of which we all are proud off đ. Disgusting to see when people look down upon television personalities. They are bigger than most and work harder than anyone out there. Totally condemn this post đđ"
Soon, many television actors started posting the snapshot to their Insta handles and bashed Jitesh Pillai for his comment. Actor Karanbir Bohra wrote, "I'm appalled at this insta story of @jiteshpillaai. Maybe, you had things ready for you maybe you didn't have a humble beginning, maybe you did....but I think hobnobbing with the gliterati you have forgotten your roots."

Actor Nakul Mehta tweeted, "Cannes is NO Chandivali studio. It can't ever be. Chandivali is where many TV shows, ad films and features have been shot. Some very iconic one's too. @jiteshpillaai To a continued journey of evolution and breaking norms, @eyehinakhan ! You go girl đ„"
Actress Jennifer Winget thanked Hina Khan for showing all television actors their place. She said, "We don't have our work cut out for us and have to put in twice as much! Respect @realhinakhan for paving the way, and showing us all our place. #chandivalitocannes is a big feat in itself, applause!"
Another comment came from actress Mrunal Thakur. She wrote, "I feel so sad that this is coming from a so called Senior Indian Journalist who is born in Vashi ! @realhinakhan really Look up to you bro , respect your journey what to do aab logoko jalan toh hogi na ! Sr .journalist we respect you hope you get well soon đđž flower smiley for you ,coz you dont deserve actual flowers after what you said ! No problem get well soon Sir ...lots of love!"
Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel also tweeted, "Look at him, an actor has gone to a film festival purely cos of her hardwork to present her film and here âŠ@jiteshpillaaiâ© Moushi ji humiliating her that too openly just cause she is an outsider, this is movie mafia and thatâs why Kangana has pledged to destroy them."

Actor Arjun Bijlani had the most fitting reply for Jitesh. It read, âFirstly we r all proud that @realhinakhan is at the Cannes film festival.she has reached there on her own and yes Hina u looked stunning.coming to this derogatory comment firstly mr @jiteshpillaai u being the editor of @filmfare and writing something so ridiculous is appalling.secondly donât forget that Filmfare is telecasted on TELEVISION.why donât u make a film to show filmfare.show some respect. thirdly donât ever travel to chandivali Iâm sure people their r v upset with u.and lastly u have no right to ridicule anyone especially a woman. And yes u just made her a superstar so thank you..â Don't MissHina Khan Is A Total Stunner As She Walks In A Diamond Gown For Her First Ever Cannes Red Carpet
Director Farah Khan also tweeted something in support of Hina. Her tweet read, "Iv shot many a times at Chandivali Studios n its a great place !! So proud of you @eyehinakhan .. itâs not where we come frm but where we are going that matters!! Hav fun at #CannesFilmFestival2019 ur probably the only one who s there 4 the right reasons.. While Salman was promoting his upcoming picture with Katrina Kaif, Salman was asked about the editor's comment on Hina Khan at Cannes. His reply to it was, âThis is very responsible of the editor to make a comment like that, so thoughtful. I donât understand what did he want to say? Cannes is Chandivali or Chandivali is going to Cannes.â
Hina Khan's boyfriend, Rocky Jaiswal also gave a fitting reply to the editor with his Instagram story. It read, âSome rats spend their entire lives chewing off the very vessel they live on and itâs not hard to imagine them to be the 1st ones to run if the ship sinks, god forbid. It becomes surprising, however, when the little creatures blame themselves for the unfortunate demise of the mighty ship. Rats donât sink ships. They live off of it and die as Rats do! Dear Rat, this ship is not just any floater. This ship is unsinkable and your ship my friend, I am afraid, has sailed!â
He also wrote another wrote in praise of girlfriend, Hina Khan. It said, âNow I want to talk about the giant heart of a girl I know. Her passion, her dedication, her hardships, her challenges, her leaps, her risks, her hard work, her talent, her journey and her achievements are worth singing laurels! She is indeed the breaker of barriers and stereotypes and a godâs own child who believes in looking ahead rather than backwards. Mediums donât define her, sheâs a phenomenon in and as herself! Thatâs why we love her! #sherrkhan.â
Soon, the hashtag #FromChandivaliToCannes started trending all over social media. Hina Khan got really overwhelmed seeing her industry friends giving so much love. She took to her Insta handle and reposted all the pictures that her friends had shared and thanked them for all their love and support. Her Insta story read, â#FromChandivaliToCannes This hashtag is love and guess what? I actually started from Chandivali back then.â She posted yet another Instagram story and wrote, âI was persistent, I am constant and I will be efficient again and again and again. Donât know where I belong, donât know if I have to, the places donât define me because as always, I will work my A*# Off and I will make my own place! My promise, a proud outsider from my Chandivali Studio!"
Soon came in Jitesh Pillai's heartfelt apology. His post read, âMy apologies to Hina Khan. My Instagram caption has been grossly misconstructed. I would never ever belittle an artist. Those who know me well enough will agree that I am inclusive and always appreciative of talent. My remark was meant to suggest that Cannes has become Bollywood centric, studios like Chandivali etc. are the very studios that I have spent my time as a rookie reporter. I would never run down my wonder years spent in these studios. My sincere apologies to Hina again. I wish you continued success. â And what looks like it, Hina immediately forgave Jitesh and wrote back, âDear Jitesh Pillai, thank you for acknowledging it and thank you for your good wishes, wish you the same, regards, Hina Khan.â Hina posted his message on her Insta story and thanked him for his acknowledgment. Well, we are happy that it ended on this note.
Also, let us not miss Hina Khan's lavender look on Day 3 at the Cannes Film Festival. Hina wore this lavender collared skater dress with a big silver wasit belt. This was from Armine Ohanyan. She teamed it with silver heels. Her hair were done in a high bun at the back. Her makeup was kept really minimal to go with the overall look.
