It was in 1980 when Swami Sambha Shiva Murthy built this temple. Since the 1980 installation of the first linga, the temple has housed other lingas. Beside the linga, there's also a massive, towering Nandi. The 11m tall Nandi sits atop a massive platform.

There are 11 small temples dedicated to various deities located on the temple's grounds.

The temple premises that feature the massive Nandi statue (35 ft tall) make it one of the largest Nandi statues in the world. The massive linga (108 ft tall) is made of a single granite stone.

Festivals Celebrated In Kotilingeshwara Temple

Major festivals celebrated in Kotilingeshwara Temple are Kodi festival - a festival of newly married couples, Maha Shivaratri, and other significant Hindu festivals which are attended by thousands of devotees every year.

Every day, the priests perform daily poojas at all of the installed Shivalingas. All of the priests perform mantras and pour water on the lingas during the pooja, which is conducted to the beats of drums and music.
