Russell Brand Sexual Assault Allegations: BBC States It Is Looking Into The Accusations

The British stand-up comic Russell Brand who had been accused of sexual assault and rape, has denied the allegations. Here is what he said to defend himself and prove his innocence.

The comedian and actor-turned-conservative-influencer was accused of sexual assault last week. It was reported by The Times and documentary show Dispatches that he was raping and sexually assaulting two women between 2006 and 2013. Further, it had been reported that a woman had made rape allegations while the other who was a 16-year-old, stated she had been sexually assaulted by Brand.

BBC says that they are investigating the matter urgently; Brand worked in their radio programmes from 2006 to 2008. “The documentary and associated reports contained serious allegations, spanning a number of years. Russell Brand worked on BBC radio programmes between 2006 and 2008 and we are urgently looking into the issues raised,” stated a BBC spokesperson.

With this whirlwind of hate being diverted towards Russell Brand, his upcoming shows from his live tour have been postponed, as mentioned by the promoter.

Russell Brand Speaks Out

After receiving immense hate for the sexual assault allegation, Russell Brand denied the statements on Friday. He chose to speak out on his Instagram handle about how it is the media’s agenda and labelled it as the media’s conspiracy theory. This video by him was a response to the investigation published by The Times and Channel 4 which recorded four sexual assault accusations under Brand’s name.

Many media accusations have occurred in the past with various public figures and celebrities. Brand’s response drew empathy and support from some of these figures, majorly including Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson.
