Rupali Ganguly’s Family Background
Rupali Ganguly hails from a filmy family. She is the daughter of popular Indian filmmaker and director Anil Ganguli. She started her career as a child artist at the age of 7. Her acting debut as a child artist was in 1985 in her father’s film Saaheb which features Anil Kapoor and Amrita Singh in lead roles.
Rupali Ganguly’s Television Career
Rupali made her television debut in the year 2000 with the serial ‘Sukanya’. She played the lead role but the serial did not run for a long time. After Sukanya, Rupali played small roles in several television serials like Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi, Suraag, and Teri Meri Kahani. Despite playing small roles, Rupali’s acting skills caught the producers' attention. After this Rupali got to play the role of Dr Simran Chopra in the television serial Sanjivani which was aired in 2003. Later in 2004, she got to play the role of Monisha in the sitcom Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. The show became a hit and Rupali got fame as a television actress. However, the show wrapped up in 2006. Later she became a part of the television shows Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Ek Packet Umeed, Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai, and Baa Bahoo aur Baby. She took a break from the television shows and took part in Bigg Boss. However, she did win the show. After the controversial reality show, Rupali did Khatron Ke Khiladi 2 and Kitchen Champion 2. She also acted in the Telugu film Premante Inte and Bengali movie Eti. Rupali got married to an Insurance executive turned businessman and filmmaker Aswin Verma in 2013 and moved to New York. After that, she took a long career break of seven years to spend time with friends and family.

Rupali’s Comeback
Rupali announced her comeback in 2020 with the show (television shows that shaped our childhood) Anupama. Her strong female character caught her attention and Anupama became a household name.

Rupali’s Political Debut
Rupali’s political debut came as a surprise for many. She joined the BJP as a party political member. In an interview with ANI she said, “When I see this 'Mahayagya' of development, I feel that I should also take part in this. I need your blessings and support so that whatever I do, I do it right and good.”
